When was the last time you did something for the first time?
What a great question! What great inspiration! What a great way to keep our minds fresh and growing . . . and our bodies, too! I believe this attitude of continuing to learn and to try new things is one key to keeping us alive and young at heart.
Here are a few of my first time activities this past year. Don’t laugh. These are new activities for a city girl moving from a warm climate to the Pacific Northwest. And to me, they were a lot of fun . . . for a little while at least. Once I had half of the driveway shoveled, I was real happy to see my neighbor come over with a snow blower to finish the job. At the same time, I felt proud to know that I can do this!
- Operated a power washer
- Shoveled snow from the driveway
- Built a fire in a wood-burning stove
So how about you? Been trying anything new lately? Got anything on your list you want to do for the first time?
By the way, I heard this question last week when Rob Foster interviewed me on Shut Up and Grind. We talked about A LOT of things; You can listen in here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHdl2ea96n0
