Today the trail ascends to an altitude of 2600 feet, leveling off at Alto de Perdón (Forgiveness Mountain Range) where art depicts pilgrims through the ages. As I start up the path, my heart grows heavy. It gently whispers to my mind what it is I have to do today. I’m angry about it. I do not want to walk up this %*#! damn camino, I think to myself, fuming. I let the anger pour out.  Slowly I ascend both the mountain and the anger. I become aware that I need to forgive David for dying and leaving me. As I do, a weight lifts from me. This is such a healing journey.
