Spring Forward
It’s time to spring ahead, they tell us. Time to advance the clock an hour. . . (well, unless you’re in Hawaii or Arizona). But the rest of us, we will find we’ve lost an hour today. That sends my mind to think about my good friend Time.
Time – I hurry to catch up with you. I spring forward, asking that you not leave me behind. And you? You smile and carry on. Second to second, steady, unchanging, faithful. We’re quite a pair, Time. Together we are unstoppable. We can conquer the world, . . . except the world has no need of conquering. She’s spread out before us, accommodating us, opening pathways to us. The world is our ally. The three of us walk together, and today we’ll spring forward together.
