Reflections on 2023
As I began to consider how to finish out this blog for 2024, it occurred to me to go back to the beginning of 2023 to see what I had written about the coming year. I was quite happy with what I found: “I’m proclaiming 2023 as a year of audacious hope and unrelenting joy. . . . I think we have good things in store for us. They’re just waiting for us to dream them. Believe them. Receive them. Yes, this is the year, our prosperous year. . . . a year of audacious hope and unrelenting joy.”
In retrospect, 2023 was a wonderful year, a steady stream of goodness. Little things, big things. Some slowly built accomplishments, some times of feeling overwhelmed, and some sudden joys. And it finished strong with Ray and I getting married and buying a house together. In other words, we experienced audacious hope and unrelenting joy. I wonder if I can carry that on into 2024 as well. That’s my intent.
As you look back over your 2023, I hope you see reasons to continue in hope, to let go and embrace joy, and to look forward with great expectations. I wish you a happy holiday season!
