My Favorite Things
“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,” . . . so sang Julie Andrews about a few of her favorite things in The Sound of Music. How wonderful to have a list of favorite things. Simple things. Simple joys that make you smile. Sometimes we don’t think about them and appreciate them enough, do we?
For my birthday a week ago Ray took me to ride the Carousel at Riverfront Park in Spokane. I had not ridden one since childhood, and I loved it! Such a simple pleasure. Refreshing. I suppose carousels may be one of my favorite things! I was thinking about that this week and added a few more: sweet peas, cilantro, freshly sharpened pencils and Dvorak’s New World Symphony.
How about you? What are five of your favorite things? Make a list and share them below. I suspect that just making that list will bring a smile to your face and uplift your spirit.
A few of my favorite things (in no particular order):
Reading
Dark Chocolate
Spending time with my children
Puppies
Being Creative
Nice list! Thanks for sharing, Lisa.
1) Sunflowers, 2) the ocean, 3) driving across the Palouse, 4) the view from my deck, 5) chips and fresh salsa. And 6) starting my Sunday with inspiration from Cathay!
Thank you, Kristin. You made my day!
